so it looks like i'm not going to be able to play the innocent newcomer on the convention scene for very much longer. just this weekend i attended my fifth 'con' (sixth if you count the one in jersey where i just sat at a table for a while) and i have to say, they just keep getting better and better. either that or i keep getting better and better. ha! i'll let you be the judge of that. but honestly i have so much fun meeting everyone and talking about the show. i'm so lucky to work on a show that delves into really deep issues that relate to all the things that are going on in the world. i think i'd go crazy if i had to dodge questions about on set love affairs or how 'you too can get your hair just so.' (now don't get any ideas!) i have yet to have a dull q & a in that regard, so thank you to the audience too because without the thoughtful questions, i wouldn't have the platform to explore questions of a more political and philosophical nature - what i enjoy talking about most. however, i did see some brains melting when i started talking about the past and future being merely a hypothesis... sorry about that.
anyway, what was also nice about this convention was the fact that it was in Massachusetts so almost everyone there had seen up until the most recent episodes. it's a bit of a challenge when you're overseas talking to an audience where some of the people have seen only what's been shown on cable, or what's come out on dvd, or they've downloaded it illegally, or they've never even heard of the show but think i look cute. so when it comes to talking about the show, my stories tend to be very vague and confusing so as not to give things away. but this wasn't the case this time, we were throwing around all kinds of theories about the last and upcoming season and it was great. i even have some new ideas to come back to the writers with. definitely some interesting speculation out there...
